FACES OF FRAZIER

Tom Westberry

Tom Westberry has spent his career as a builder working in some of Texas’ most prestigious neighborhoods: Trophy Club, Southlake, Eagle Mountain Lake. But he wanted to make a difference in building a community – a place with its own unique history and culture. When he met Jon Edmonds and heard Jon’s vision for Frazier, he was intrigued.

They talked at length, and eventually Jon hired Tom to oversee construction of a model home on Silver Street under the banner of Frazier Fine Homes. Jon’s vision was challenging: He insisted on a home that would be affordable without necessarily looking affordable. Together, they met that challenge – and people noticed.

As the house went up, more and more people stopped by to take a look – and to say that homes like this are just what the neighborhood needs. “There was a great sense of appreciation,” Tom says.

The neighbors even got protective of the project, he says. If anything was amiss around the job site, they’d call to let him know. “They felt like they were part of it,” he says. “I was always grateful for their sense of ownership.”

Ownership is a perfect word for what FRI and Frazier Fine Homes are all about. Because ownership goes beyond a deed to a piece of property: It’s about that feeling of belonging and mutual caring that is the true mark of community. Together, FRI and its many partners, including Tom Westberry, will continue to build a fresh sense of ownership throughout Frazier.
